Sorrow

I attended the funeral of a friend today. She was only 38 years old and has been fighting cancer for the last four years. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer and we thought she beat it. Shortly thereafter, they said it had spread. Eventually in settled in her brain stem. She peacefully joined our Father last Friday. I have cried with her family today and pray that their sorrow will be able to fade quickly so they can fully rejoice her life.

MJ is Four Months Old!

Isn't MJ just the cutest thing in the world!

She had her Fourth Month Birthday yesterday and was then banished to her crib for the entire night. Mike, the soft-hearted daddy he is, saved her at 6am. She did very well actually. She cried for about 15 minutes when we first turned of the lights at and slept thru till 5:40am or so. She is a good baby but was very needy today. I think she was afraid I was going to leave her again.

Red Hair! Her hair is not so bright in person but I do think she will be a red head.

We have had so much snow. This pic was taken Sunday and it had started to melt by then. Saturday night I measured the amout on top of our gabage can and we had

10 1/2 inches. That was a 2 day total. WOW!

Oh Christmas Tree

I am really bad at this aren't I?

This week has been fun and busy. We went and got our Christmas Tree on Wednesday. For all those who are not use to rural life, we have a real tree every year and we do not go to a lot to get it. We buy a permit, head up the mountain and trek thru the snow. It is a family tradition of ours and we all look forward to it. The kids bring their sleds and enjoy some cold time.

Mike is the great tree slayer!

The kids are having fun and...

becoming popcicles.

Except MJ. She slept in the truck.

But, the end result is always stunning.

This picture was taken at the begining of our adventure. The house belonds to our neighbor. And yes, it is real.

My husbands frustrating job!

Most Everyone today is blogging about their Halloween fun ( I'm sure). Not me!
I am so frustrated with my husbands work hours. He works in the Oilfield for a Solutions Company. Basically a Solutions Co. in Oilfield rents out all the Housing, Water, Portalble Toilets, Generators, Communications, ect. They work 24/7, 372 days a year. (Yes, I know there are not 372 Days in a year but after the last few days, it feels like he works those extra few.)
Monday, He worked 11 hours. Tuesday, 14 hours. And yesterday, another 14. I guess my big gripe is that Halloween is a big holiday for our family and community. Every year I spend hours and hours planning a building costumes. I love to sew and design so, halloween is just for me! This year was no different. Lets just start at the begining.
We were asked to be greeters at the annual Halloween Pumpkin Walk in our costumes from last year (an angel and the devil). We were all excited till, work intervined. Mike was in Colorado all day and a good part of the night. My 16 year old nephew stepped in and played the devil role and we had a great time but, I still missed my Mikey.
The big bummer came yesterday. We decided that Coryne, MJ, and I would be Little Bo Peep and her lost sheep. I was Bo and Coryne and MJ two of the cutest sheep you have ever seen. Mike and Shane were going to be a rodeo clown and a rodeo bull. (Mike was an actually rodeo clown up until we got married.) Well, at 11am an oil rig calls and says come move us. To sum up my frustration, NO one understood Shane costume and he had to repeatedly tell everyone what he was. That is very frustrating for a three year old.
The even bigger kicker, all the kids were in bed sound asleep, costumes put away, candy safely hidden, and me crying on our bed when my dear, hard working husband made it home in the wee hours of the night.
He really likes his job. We just hate the unpredictability of it.
Well, Thanks for reading my stress. And I an so sorry that this Blog was down for so long. After we (finally) got DSL I got Very sick so,....

No Internet

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Our internet was thru the business and the business needed it so Mike took it. I thought no worry, he signed me up for DSL. This was the middle of last week! Our stupid phone co. still has not hooked up our service and they now say the earliest it will be is Friday. I am frustrated. (And Blogging from Moms house.)

I will try to be calm if you will and hopefully I will be Blogging again soon.

Dance Classes Start

I love our dance teacher.

Her name is Barbra and I work with her on our local county scholarship padgent. She was also one of my ballet teachers when I was young. Whenever Shane sees her, he runs to her, gives her a huge hug and yells "Miss Barbra".

He was very excited to start his own dance class this year. We woke up Monday morning got ready and drove to the studio. He literally ran into Barbra's studio, kicked off his shoes, saw all the little girls and FROZE!

We got him to sit on a mat next to Barbra and he started to cry.

Eventually, He ended up sitting up by the wall pouting.

This Preschool age class WAS wild. Barbra said it was one of the wildest she has ever taught in her career. She has invested in a treasure box for the good students next week.

Coryne's Class was Tuesday Evening and it is old hat to her. She was excited to see the girls in her class that go to diffrent elem. schools in the area. She has some made some good friends in the since we have moved here.

MJ turned one month on Monday. Here is my sweet little one!

Wild Week

This week has been a wild one! The annual cheer camp started on Tuesday and of course Coryne had to participate. The funniest part of the whole week was that Shane wanted to cheer too. The little girls learn the cheer tuesday, wednesday and thursday then on friday they perform during halftime of the football game. You know Coryne, She just eats that up. I took pictures but they were so bad that I am not going to share.

While we were at the game I tracked down my 16 year old nephew Chris. He is in the band (trumpet) & has to play at all games. Well, he wasn't playing and his hand was all taped up. So, Reader Digest Version-- He accidentally shot himself in the hand with his BB gun:) Yes, smiley face. We are all trying to keep a positive attitude and remember that it was a BB gun. It could have been alot more serious and it was a great lesson to learn. He thought the gun was unloaded and it wasn't. He will never think a gun is unloaded again. The BB was surgically removed yesterday (He is in a walking cast from foot surgury a month ago) and all will be well.

Mike went roping tonight. Family friends Dave & Helen Coon have an Arena at their home and we rope as much as possible. Basically, we try to feed Mikes addiction;)

I'm a Newbie!!!

My friend Jess has a Blog and I love to read it and keep up on her life. She has traveled out to the sticks where I live for Labor Day weekend and convinced me that I must have my own Blog so....

Mike (my awesome husband) and I will celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary on Wednesday and we have three children. Coryne is eight and a half, and she has more energy than the Energizer Bunny! Shane is three and a half, and my cuddle buddy. MJ is three weeks old and we call her Tiny 'cause she still is not 7 lbs.

MJ was blessed in church yesterday. It was such a humble experiance.

We had Family pictures taken, they turned out great!!!

The picts are all Jess' work.
